The Article Documented Prairie’s Experience Vacationing in London While it Went on Lockdown Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic

The article, which is titled, “What it’s like to be on vacation in a country on lockdown,” documents Prairie’s experience traveling in London while it went on lockdown during her stay.
As the article noted, on the evening of October 31, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that all of England would go back into lockdown as the result of a concerning second wave of the coronavirus.
Prairie, who is based out of Sarasota Springs, New York, had recently arrived in the UK for a four-week vacation. She had been in London for almost two weeks and was just about done with her mandatory 14-day quarantine when Prime Minister Johnson made his announcement.
When the digital marketer heard the lockdown announcement, Prairie knew her vacation was going to change drastically, and she would spend the entirety of her four-week stay in lockdown.
“It's that feeling of 2020, where you kind of have to roll with the punches -- nothing's a guarantee anymore. So I wasn't that surprised about the lockdown, in the sense of -- everything is so fluid in 2020 and nothing can really shock me anymore,” Prairie told CNN Travel, adding that she had also enjoyed a trip to London in July of this year, when COVID cases were falling and businesses were opening up again for the first time in months.
The new lockdown regulations in England, which are set to last until at least December 2, are not as strict as the first round. In “Lockdown 2,” the CNN article noted, people can leave their home to exercise, and many cafes, bars and restaurants are open for takeout.
Prairie, who stayed in a Notting Hill flat that she found on Airbnb, told CNN Travel that while the new rules took her by surprise, vacationing in a locked-down country still had its positive moments.
“I'm close to Hyde Park, I'm able to explore, and to be outside and to be in fresh air, to explore the neighborhood,” Prairie said.
“I don't mind this, being able to go out for walks, going to the parks, getting takeaway, none of this bothers me at all.”
